Avanti Frozen Foods issued a nationwide frozen-shrimp recall due to the risk of contamination with salmonella. The brand is pulling the precooked frozen shrimp products, sold under nine different brands, out of “an abundance of caution” following six reports of salmonella poisoning, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announcement.

The recall covers numerous lots of particular frozen cooked, peeled, deveined shrimp products sold under these brands: 365 by Whole Foods, CenSea, Chicken of the Sea, CWNO, Hannaford, Honest Catch, Meijer, Open Acres, and Waterfront Bistro.

Check your freezer and make sure you don’t have any shrimp impacted by this recall. Have a safe and happy Independence Day weekend.
