On the latest Eat! Drink! Smoke! Radio Program, Tony and I brought up a piece in Men’s Health about some unusual burger toppings they think you should try this summer. One topping in particular the piece mentioned that made me absolutely cringe — sauerkraut.
Sauerkraut and sausages may be consummate companions in Central Europe, but it’s time to move beyond the beer garden and onto the hamburger patty. The fermented cabbage adds a refreshing mix of salt and sour (and crunch) to your bite. Sauerkraut even helps with digestion.Men’s Health
As I have brought up on several occasions on the big show, I love to reverse sear burgers on the grill. But I usually just like to top those burgers with cheese, mustard, ketchup, pickle and onion. The only topping I have tried which some may find unusual is peanut butter. Also, I will never put peanut butter on a burger again.
